Return & Exchange Policy & Adjustments


NOTICE: In an effort to reduce packaging waste, we eliminated paper packing slips from online orders. If you need a receipt or gift receipt for your order, you can find it 2 ways! Visit the Order Details section of the order and click the Receipts button, or you can click the Track Order link in the Customer Service section of the website footer and input your order information.

What is your return policy?

We will accept unwashed, unaltered and unworn or defective merchandise within 45 days of the purchase date. Bring your item(s) with original price tags attached and the printed receipt, gift receipt or digital receipt (via Ship Confirmation email or online account). Returns will not be accepted without the receipt and original price tags attached. All returns are subject to verification of original sale, and we reserve the right to limit returns. We will determine in our sole discretion whether the merchandise is unwashed, unaltered, and unworn or defective. Merchandise that is not eligible for return or exchange but that is nonetheless returned to our warehouse will be discarded without a refund. We bear no responsibility for those items. We do not accept merchandise purchased through third-party platforms or sellers. The following items cannot be returned or exchanged and are FINAL SALE: Clearance items or items marked Final Sale, health & beauty accessories, pillows and jewelry dishes.


Items may be returned to a The Children’s Place store or a Gymboree store at no cost. Items returned using our online portal will have $7.00 deducted from the refunded amount.

What is your exchange policy?

Online Exclusive styles cannot be exchanged in any store. Merchandise purchased in stores cannot be exchanged by mail and are subject to store inventory availability.

What are the return/exchange requirements?

  • Must be The Children’s Place, Gymboree, Sugar & Jade or PJ Place branded merchandise purchased in stores, online at childrensplace.com, gymboree.com or on The Children’s Place, Inc. official mobile apps.
  • Must be within 45 days of the purchase date. 
  • Must not have any signs of wear or damage.
  • Must have original price tags attached.
  • Must be returned or exchanged in the country in which it was originally purchased .
  • Must not be a FINAL SALE item (the following are FINAL SALE items: clearance items and items marked Final Sale, health and beauty accessories, pillows and jewelry dishes).


What items cannot be returned/exchanged?

The following items cannot be returned or exchanged and are FINAL SALE:

How do I return/exchange my purchases?

RETURN/EXCHANGE IN STORE RETURN BY MAIL

To return or exchange merchandise purchased online or in stores, bring the following to a store:

  • The printed receipt, digital receipt (via Ship Confirmation email or online account) or gift receipt/packing slip
  • The item(s) with original price tags attached.
  • The original form of payment used for the purchase (for returns only)

NOTE: Merchandise can be exchanged in stores and is subject to store inventory availability. Online Exclusive styles cannot be exchanged in any store.

Clearance items or items marked Final Sale, health & beauty accessories, pillows and jewelry dishes may not be returned or exchanged.

To return merchandise purchased online:

  • Locate your order: Log into your account and find the order you wish to return or locate the order number on the shipping confirmation email.
  • Initiate a return: Once you’ve located the order, select Initiate a Return and follow the instructions for creating a return label or showing a QR code. $7.00 will be deducted from your refund amount. If shipping via carrier of your choice, we cannot refund original or return shipping charges.
  • Package and drop off: Pack your item(s) in a box and seal it securely. Attach the return label to the package and drop it off at the designated carrier.


NOTE: Exchanges and merchandise purchased in stores are not accepted by mail. Clearance items or items marked Final Sale, health & beauty accessories, pillows and jewelry dishes may not be returned or exchanged.


Merchandise that is not eligible for return or exchange but that is nonetheless returned to our warehouse will be discarded without a refund. We bear no responsibility for those items.


You may mail your package via the carrier of your choice. All costs associated with your return are your responsibility. We suggest you obtain a tracking number and insurance as we are not responsible for lost packages. Packages should be mailed to:

Do I need a receipt for returns/exchanges?

Returns within 45 days of purchase date receive a full refund in the original form of payment, unless otherwise noted on the tag, online or receipt. For customers who use our online return portal, $7.00 will be deducted for shipping.

NOTE: We are currently unable to research online orders in the stores. If a return or exchange does not meet our requirements, we reserve the right to refuse and discard the items without providing a refund or exchange.


*Merchandise credit is not redeemable for cash (unless required by law) and cannot be replaced if lost, stolen or used without customer permission. Terms and conditions apply and are displayed with the applicable merchandise credit.


**Note: If you are returning a gift by mail, the original form of payment will be credited to the original purchaser. If a gift card was used, a merchandise credit will be emailed to the email address associated with the order.

Where can I return/exchange my purchases?

IN-STORE PURCHASES ONLINE PURCHASES
  • Merchandise purchased in stores can be returned to a store location. The Children’s Place or Gymboree-branded merchandise may be returned to any The Children’s Place store location, but only Gymboree-branded merchandise can be returned to a Gymboree-only store location.

  • Merchandise purchased in stores can be exchanged in any The Children’s Place store location. Only Gymboree-branded merchandise can be exchanged in a Gymboree-only store location.

  • Merchandise purchased in stores cannot be returned or exchanged by mail and are subject to store inventory availability.
  • Merchandise purchased online at childrensplace.com, gymboree.com, or on The Children’s Place, Inc. Official mobile apps, including Online Exclusive styles, can be returned by mail or to any The Children’s Place store location, but only Gymboree-branded merchandise can be returned to a Gymboree-only store location.

  • Merchandise purchased online at childrensplace.com, gymboree.com or on The Children’s Place, Inc. official mobile apps can be exchanged in any The Children’s Place store location. Only Gymboree-branded merchandise can be exchanged in a Gymboree-only store location.

  • Online Exclusive styles cannot be exchanged in any store.

  • Exchanges cannot be processed by mail and are subject to in-store availability.

  • NOTE: The following items cannot be returned or exchanged and are FINAL SALE: Clearance items or items marked Final Sale, health & beauty accessories, pillows and jewelry dishes. Merchandise purchased through third-party platforms or sellers cannot be returned or exchanged by mail to The Children’s Place or to a The Children’s Place or Gymboree store location. These items should be returned or exchanged to the applicable third-party platform or seller.


    I received a gift – how do I return/exchange it?

    Return or exchange the gift to your nearest store location.

    We will accept returns or exchanges of unwashed, unaltered and unworn or defective merchandise with original price tags attached within 45 days of the purchase date. Gifts returned to a store location will receive a merchandise credit that can be redeemed in stores, online or on The Children’s Place, Inc. mobile apps. Gifts returned by mail will be refunded to the original form of payment. Where a gift card was used for payment, a merchandise credit will be emailed to the email address associated with the order. Gifts exchanged in a store will be processed for the same item/color but in a different size. All other transactions will be processed as a return. Exchanges are subject to store inventory availability. Exchanges cannot be processed by mail.

Gift returns & exchanges will not be accepted without the gift receipt/packing slip and original price tags attached. All returns & exchanges are subject to verification of original sale, and we reserve the right to limit returns & exchanges.     When will I get my refund?

    RETURN IN STORE RETURN BY MAIL
    Refunds are processed and issued within 3-5 business days; If a gift card was used, a merchandise credit will be processed immediately. Refunds are processed and issued within 7-10 business days after a return has been received; If a gift card was used, a merchandise credit will be emailed to you within 2 weeks. Please note, $7.00 will be deducted from your refunded amount for all returns made through the online return portal. We cannot refund original or return shipping charges if shipping via the carrier of your choice.

    If you mail your package via the carrier of your choice, all costs associated with your return are your responsibility. We suggest you obtain a tracking number and insurance as we are not responsible for lost packages.

    Merchandise that is not eligible for return or exchange but that is nonetheless returned to our warehouse will be discarded without a refund. We bear no responsibility for those items.

    What is the price adjustment policy?

    Price adjustment requests will be honored when items are purchased at FULL RETAIL price and if the merchandise is discounted within 7 days after the original purchase date. Sale and discounted items are not eligible for price adjustments. Price adjustments can only be processed with the receipt.

    Coupons and web codes offering discounts on your entire purchase cannot be applied toward previously placed orders or prior purchases.


    IN-STORE PURCHASES ONLINE PURCHASES
    To receive a price adjustment for full retail priced items that went on sale within 7 days after the initial purchase date, please bring the receipt to any The Children's Place store location. A credit will be issued to the original form of payment. To receive a price adjustment for full retail priced items that went on sale within 7 days after the initial purchase date, please contact Customer Service. If you are due a Price Adjustment per the stated policy, a credit will be issued to the original form of payment.

    Note: Online orders cannot receive price adjustments in our retail stores.
